Workshops & “Impact Talks”

We offer virtual and live custom* interactive training workshops and “Impact Talks*” for every level, and each is capped at 120 minutes for up to 200 participants per session. The Diversity Leadership workshop series is open for up to 12 participants.

All trainings & speeches are available Tuesday - Wednesday from 8:30a- 5pmEST.

Custom: *All workshops are customized based on your industry and communicated company needs. Additional costs will be invoiced for FULL CUSTOMIZATION: This includes, but is not limited to, two co-design calls, pre-questionnaires, focus groups, evaluations, and a debrief call.

”Impact Talks” are an interactive short keynote version of the workshops listed below. The interactive Impact Talk is a great option for a Lunch & Learn Series.

What is DEI (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion?: Aligning & Examining Language in Action

Examine and discuss the terms Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access, Racial Justice, and what these terms look and feel like in action on a daily basis in YOUR workplace.

Workshop i.p.2.

Practical Solutions to Decrease Negative Impacts of Implicit Bias in the Workplace

Learn how to identify varying types of bias and how to create practices to decrease negative bias in recruitment, hiring and retention. Learn how to avoid discriminatory action in the workplace.

Workshop i.p.3.

Examining Blind Spots in Workplace Situations

Learn common “blind spots” or unintended actions and comments that contribute to exclusion in the workplace. Determine how to address situations with colleagues and customers.

Workshop i.p.4.

Conflict Resolution Strategies

Practice implementing step-by-step tips to manage workplace conflict. Along with colleagues, work through scenarios in real time. Scenarios examples range in managerial, direct reports, client feedback, and student discipline based on your company need.

Communicating Across Culture

Explore various ways members of your organization are alike and different. Using the Culture Wheel Card Game, participants will learn how to recognize and honor age, ethnic, religious, and cultural differences in the workplace. This training is great for increasing company morale, retention, and community building.

Workshop i.c.2.

Fostering Brave Space: Dialogue Principles 101

Brave space is an open environment to challenge others and be challenged. Participants learn how to use the Social Designs Dialogue Principles as a tool for growing as a team and becoming more effective communicators. Leaders will also learn key inclusive communication strategies and habits.

Workshop i.c.3.

Culture Clash: Recognize Communication & Conflict Differences

Do you know the right things to say when stuff “hits the fan?” Learn practical tools for disarming difficult conversations. Discover champion inclusive language to help you connect with diverse employees. You will also learn cultural cues and values across ethnicity, age, and region.

Workshop i.c.4.

Fostering Brave Space: Dialogue Principles 201

Through an interactive process, participants will engage in activities to understand the impact of creating a brave workplace culture with scenarios and role plays for real-life situations in the workplace. This training is recommended after completing Fostering Brave Space: Dialogue Principles 101.

Workshop i.s.1.

The Nuts & Bolts of Developing an Inclusion Action Plan

Learn how to prepare your organization for a Strategic Inclusion Plan. This workshop is designed for two audiences; the full staff and c-suite leaders. You have the choice of a leadership level training or a full-staff training. Each session is designed to fit the selected target population.

Workshop i.s.2.

Inclusion Assessment

Participants are guided to complete step-by-step activities throughout to aid in the examination of organizational culture. Learn how to use the Social Designs eight organizational culture components (communication, language, data collection, conflict resolution, space, hierarchy & relationships, decision-making, and accountability) as an assessment tool for departments, divisions, and organizations.

Inclusive Policy Development

Participants will practice examining company policies and learn to create more equitable and inclusive policies. Leaders will also develop accountability practices for teams. Upon completion, each leader will be better equipped to develop strategies for an improved company handbook to put into action.

Workshop i.s.4.

Building Effective & Equitable Coalitions Among Partners

Participants will discuss the complexities and opportunities in collaboration. Learn the keys to strengthen partnerships while learning the foundations of building healthy and productive partnerships. You will also apply an equity lens to collaborative methodologies.

Experience an individualized experience catered to your role as a diversity leaders within your organization or external support. Enrollment is open.

DEI Leaders: Thrive in Your Role

This workshop is specific for Chief Diversity Officers/ HR practitioners and/or a DEI Teams.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn strategies to foster buy-in for your position

  • Apply a True Colors Assessment and SWOT analysis to your leadership style

  • Learn the Social Designs model for creating and nurturing brave space with c-suite/Board, staff, and constituents

Workshop i.L.2.

Embedding Strategy in Your DEI Role

This workshop is specific for Chief Diversity Officers/ HR practitioners and/or a DEI Teams.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to make your DEI role a strategic role with specific tasks and metrics for your work.

  • Learn how to identify allies

  • Develop strategic roles within your job description.

  • Learn how to include diversity, equity, and inclusion into the strategic goals of the organization.

Train the Trainer: Inclusive Facilitation

This workshop is specific for leaders who lead training and development in their organizations.

  • Practice implementing dialogue and facilitation frameworks

  • Learn and practice tactics for disarming conflict

  • Learn how to facilitate cultural competency activities to engage participants

Design Culturally Responsive Training, Curriculum, & Programming

This workshop is designed to produce a training, curriculum or programming plan for leaders to put into action within 30 days.
